Matthew Patrick

Why are you running to be a Town Meeting member?

I care about the town and its people. I have a wealth of experience and knowledge and if it can benefit the town in some small way I would consider it time well spent.

What issues in Falmouth are you most concerned about?

Finances, affordable housing, affordable taxes and the the environment.

What is your favorite place or activity in Falmouth?

Shell fishing or fishing on Waquoit Bay.


John Collins

Why are you running to be a Town Meeting member?

I believe in civic engagement and contributing to my community. I am running for reelection in order to continue to offer my energy and experience in service to the citizens of Falmouth. In addition to twenty-eight years in the field of education as a faculty member and library director at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, I have served as a City Councilman while living in West Virginia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foxboro, Ma, public library, and numerous other civic and professional boards and offices. I bring experience in government, policy development, organizational behavior, technology, education, personnel, and financial management to the tasks of a Town Meeting member.

What issues in Falmouth are you most concerned about?

As a full-time Falmouth resident for many years, I am concerned about environmental issues, housing, senior services, open space, water quality, beaches and waterways, maintenance of town owned buildings and facilities, schools, housing and other issues focused on improving the quality of life for all in Falmouth.

What is your favorite place or activity in Falmouth?

My favorite municipal facility is the Falmouth Public Library. It is a marvelous resource for our community, truly the center of social, cultural, intellectual, and enrichment activities. My favorite natural areas are our local waterways, where I fish, boat, kayak, and explore.


Tara Valley

Why are you running to be a Town Meeting member?

I was born and raised here in Falmouth. I have always been interested in what's going on in Falmouth. I am particularly interested issues involving our schools and the environment. Now that my children are older, I can devote my time and effort to being a voice for the community.

What issues in Falmouth are you most concerned about?

I am most concerned about the schools and the environment.

What is your favorite place or activity in Falmouth?

I wouldn't say this was an activity, per say, But my favorite thing to do in Falmouth is being President of the Morse Pond PTO. We have done many fundraisers this year to allow for special assemblies, field trips and programs for the children. Currently we are planning on a school beautification project to take place on Sunday, May 20th that will include planting. mulching, and adding a "Kindness Rock Garden" for children to add a rock or take a rock that has words of kindness on them. I like to be a part of anything that promotes making things a better place.


Tom Bushy

Why are you running to be a Town Meeting member?

I would like to be more involved in town politics. I am eager to represent the voices of families with school-aged children that are actively involved in youth extracurricular and athletic programs.

What issues in Falmouth are you most concerned about?

The issues I am most concerned about are the safety of our school-aged children. I am also interested in being an advocate for youth opportunities as a preventative measure for kids that may be at-risk for substance abuse, as well as students that have been negatively impacted by adverse childhood experiences.

What is your favorite place or activity in Falmouth?

I love my job as the Principal of the Lawrence School. I am so grateful and honored to work with the kids in this town, the incredible teachers and community partners. Everyday in my role as an educator in town, I'm so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the students' academic, social and emotional growth.
